oxygen architects wins competition in Gävle togehter with N1 arkitekter.
The project was a collaboration between N1 arkitekter (Oslo) and oxygen architects for Skanska AB.
The proposal is built around four core concepts:
urban space, local identity, housing quality and urban life. The placement of the building releases
the waterfront and makes it public and creates a fund for life along the Boulevard Park and pier.
The building is narrow and elongated, resembling a flag. It is divided into vertical fields of
construction materials related to Gävle's history both in buildings and industry (wood, sails,
porcelain, slag stone and brick) to create a local connection and identity.
The slimness of the house gives very good lighting conditions and most apartments have
a panoramic view. Smart floor plans offer extraordinary qualities for every apartment
and make them unique.
